Charismatic Southern Baptist Pastor Embraces Book of Mormon

Here's an amazing little article from our friends at Pulpit and Pen about a Charismatic Southern Baptist pastor who has taken a stand in support of the Book of Mormon (and against the Bible):

Charismatics are really into new revelations (new "words from God"), so this is an understandable (but very wrong) direction to take. Mormons teach people to read their Book of Mormon and wait to see if they get "a burning in their bosom" to confirm that it's true "in their hearts." Charismatics often do something very similar and emphasize feelings and experiences over the objective and unchanging Word of God.

Oh, and yes, people claim to get that burning in their bosom all the time.

Jonathan Cahn Partners With Arch Heretic Ken Copeland

Jonathan Cahn's transition to the dark side is now complete. He has now taken his eschatologically indefensible prognostications to the Dark Lord of the Heretical Sith, Ken Copeland.

I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them. For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites, and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.
— Romans 16:17–18

Need we say more?

Pope Video: Rejects 1st Commandment & Lays Foundation for One World Religion

In what can only be described as a flagrant rejection of the 1st Commandment, The Pope Video, a project produced by the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network claims that people of all religions and beliefs are children of God.

You shall have no other gods before me.
— Exodus 20:3
You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor shall there be any after me. I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior.
— Isaiah 43:10-11
What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be participants with demons.
— 1 Corinthians 10:19-20

Hillsong's "Sleazy Silent Night!"

The following video is wrong on so many levels.

Aesthetically, it's just weird, confusing and embarrassing.

Hillsong Music Director: "Hey everybody, I've got a great idea! Let's take the beloved and peaceful Christmas hymn 'Silent Night' and turn it into a loud, obnoxious, roaring twenties style, Las Vegas big-band production! You know, kinda like Christmas in a whorehouse! What'ya think?!"

Everybody Who Should Know Better at Hillsong: (silence)

But beyond the ridiculous nature of this one particular song/video there's the more serious problem that this "thing" claims to be the church...

Hillsong leads the way when it comes to "churches" featuring worldly, gigantic and expensive spectacles to attract a large audience. They are laughing all the way to the bank, too, as this global empire continues to gobble up followers around the world.

Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world-the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life-is not from the Father but is from the world.
— 1 John 1: 15-16
I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what it the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
— Romans 12: 1-2
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God.
— 1 Thessalonians 4: 3-5

Closing thoughts: For those of you who say "but this was a performance at a special concert event-this wasn't an actual worship service; you need to see this in it's proper context..." Here's a question; why would a "church" have an event/concert with moral guidelines that are different from the moral guidelines that govern a worship service? Why be "a little more like the world" to attract people to a spectacle (like this video) and then "re-adjust" things for a Sunday morning service? If this video is supposed to be sleazy on purpose to somehow try and teach a lesson, Hillsong doesn't mention it anywhere-and this is from their own YouTube channel. It seems that this is just a very obnoxious version of Silent Night to grab the attention of the crowd. Note: A few hours after we posted this video, it was "made private" by Hillsong; the video on this page now is a copy we put on Vimeo.

Message to Gateway: HE IS RISEN - not "it" is risen

Good Friday is a time to for churches to preach how Christ was lifted up on the cross so that people may know that are forgiven of their sins. Resurrection Sunday is a time for churches to proclaim "He is risen indeeed".

But for some reason, Gateway Church decided to advertise their Easter with this tasteless erectile dysfunction ad spoof.

Worst Easter Advertisement EVER! Run Away! Don't Look!!

And the Worst Easter Advertisement in the History of the Christian Church Award goes to....Action Church

No matter how many times you say to yourself "make it go away" what you're about to see will plague you for the rest of your life. You've been warned...

There's still time to turn back...

You asked for it...

Tithe Rapaganda

How do you fleece your church when Christian families are suffering through the Global Financial Crisis? Introduce your church to the "Tithe Rap". This tithe* gimmick will be sure to entertain the gullible to part with their cash! (Robert  Morris - eat your heart out.)

This little gimmick has quite the following.

* tithing is a false doctrine that scams people of their money.

Do you have a sick "personal relationship" with Jesus like this?

This is what happens when people take their personal experiences and IHOP's false Bridal Paradigm too far. This is Brandon Barthrop from Red Letter Ministries (RLM) who holds his church services in a former crackhouse in Minnesota. (You can hear his wife Penny in the background.)

(Warning: MA - explicit language and disturbing sexual references.)

This is Barthrop's excuse for the above video:

WARNING! This video is a parable! NOT to be taken literally. The language in this video is symbolic! Glory! Having spiritual sex with Jesus should be just as normal to Christians as breathing, since we are 1 spirit. Intimacy has been so religiousized by demons, so let us break the barriers into the reality of what intimacy is: sexual union. The entire bridal paradigm and the mystery of marriage and consummation etc. that is in the natural is all symbolic of the ultimate union with God. Sex between a man and women in the marriage covenant is the physical manifestation of the spiritual marriage and spiritual sex between the Christian and their Lord. Glory! Orgasmic glory is here to stay as the Lord will never issue us a divorce certificate! Hallelujah! For more orgasmic glory visit Red Letter Ministries online garden: http://RedLetterMin.com/”"

Hillsong's monkey business

From the same people that brought us Mr. Sparkle, comes...The Monkey. It's a whole new type of  "worship" experience. Or maybe it's just a silly dance/exercise thing?

We're not sure, but we think we may have spotted a golden calf in there somewhere.

Aren't you glad your kids are off the street at nights and are attending, well... church?

'Ekstasis worship'?

Did you know Patricia King wants you to experience Ekstasis Worship? We will let Patricia King introduce you to this bizzarre worship experience:

"Have you ever heard the term 'Ekstasis worship'? No? Well many people haven't. It's a powerful word. It's a Greek word that means... well you'll find out in a little while. Because I want to introduce to you Caleb Brundidge.

He's one of our itinerant ministries. But also a worshiper with so much passion. In fact if you've been to any of our conference, you would see Caleb flagging and worshiping God and opening up the heavens and operating in a real breaker level anointing.

He is actually a DJ as well and leads a lot of Christian events and weddings and you know, High School events and things like that. So if you would like to know more about him, he's on our itinerant page on our website. But today, he's going to tell you about Club Mysterio and about the Ekstasis worship that takes place to bring those times of gathering together. So it's my privilege to introduce to you Caleb Brundidge."

She aired this following segment on XP media. (You can see Patricia King 55 seconds in.)

Here's a promo video to introduce people to Ekstasis "worship," where you "disengage the mind and experience God at a cellular level" (or maybe you just dance around a bunch):

The Elijah List allowed Caleb Brundidge to explain his teachings more. To read more on this (and, surprise! buy his CDs), click here.

Wrecking Ball of a "Praise Song"

Could someone explain to us the purpose of having a church's praise band perform Miley Cyrus's song, Wrecking Ball? Newspring Church, under the "pastoral care" of Perry Noble did exactly that.

Makes perfect sense if you think about it. Miley Cyrus is a paragon of Christian virtues and morality...cough...well... she was rated G years ago when she was Hannah Montana. But, clearly she's made some effort to shed the G rating and is now rated PG-13... no, R... no, is it X?

Video from Newspring's Church performance is posted below; notice how they projected the lyrics so that the people at Newspring Church could sing along, just like a praise song. This is done under the very mistaken idea that "we have to get unbelievers into church anyway we can!"

A viewer comment from the YouTube page says it well (quoting C.H. Spurgeon): "A time will come when instead of shepherds feeding the sheep, the church will have clowns entertaining the goats."
